I'm Coming Home
by C.R.M. Nilsson

Nick’s intervention was successful, though Darlene’s loath to admit that. Instead she takes her car, leaves a note and starts to drive. She drives for hours, for days, maybe even for weeks. Time has no meaning right now. She’s searching for something. She’ll know it when she sees it.

The road transits into a bridge. It’s bathed in golden light and she’s not sure whether it’s morning or evening. It looks like the sun’s breaking through the clouds after the rain. The bridge’s beautiful. Even the skyscrapers in the distance are beautiful.

She realises that this is her new home.
