Landslide
by C.R.M. Nilsson

Fleetwood Macís Landslide plays from the radio and she hums along as she sweeps the floor. Itís late in the day. Nearly time to close. She might have to stay late today; ever since Maja left thereís been more to do in the store. She misses Maja.

Her humming transits into singing: ďIím getting older too.Ē

The bell chimes. Slightly embarrassed to be caught singing, she turns to greet the costumer. She almost drops the broom. For one dizzying moment she thinks sheís hallucinating.

Heís older and thinner. She hasnít seen him in ten years.

He stares at her shyly.
